How Near or How Far

These images are scans of everyday household objects. The process of scanning removes the objects being rendered from their context. All images have inverted color scheme with some further digital adjustments which removes a layer of immediate discernibility from the objects as well as immediately obvious time marks, and, incidentally, gives the scanned images the appearance of india ink drawings. The scales of all objects shown are preserved with respect to one another. My interest lies in the state of uncanniness experienced when faced with familiar objects taken out of their original context and rendered in a somewhat atypical way.
